ANTALYA – Three Luxembourg children who were subjected to violence in their families and sent to childcare centers by the state will receive dolphin therapy in Antalya.
The first visitors to the Antalya Dolphin Therapy Center are three children who were badly treated and subjected to abuse by their own parents. A dozen more abused children are also on their way to Antalya to receive the therapy. The state, which took the minors from their homes and placed them in childcare centers, has sent them to the Turkish Mediterranean resort town for the treatment.
The two 8-year-olds and one 12-year-old will swim with dolphins under the guidance of trainers and therapists, including psychotherapist Dr. Murat Kemaloğlu.
The parents who abused these children displayed psychopathic behavior, Kemaloğlu said, adding, “If these children do not receive therapy, they would be individuals like their parents.” According to Kemaloğlu, the center will soon receive 12 more children for treatment, and the first three participants are expected to return in September. “We are just trying to show these kids the beautiful side of life with dolphin therapy,” he said.
